Out of the Blue - 16x20 original
I started with a variety of blue, green and purple fabric collaged and sewn onto artist weight canvas in a fantastic flowing neuronal shape. Then I painstakingly hand embroidered through the cloth, adding a mirror at the center of the neuron, handstitched into place.
Once all of the handwork was done, I stretched it onto heavy duty gallery wrap stretcher bars and painted the canvas, adding rhinestones into the background of neurons that surround this beauty. The finishing touch was to connect all of the neurons using a gold paint to create the network. The sides are painted so it needs no frame.
The title 'Out of the Blue' was suggested by a social media follower as a tribute for all of us who have come through neurological conditions. I just love that! Thanks Pam :)
